Varun K. Mootoor comes from a musical background. His father (Vedath) a dholak drummer and mother (Mala) a singer, made sure he would follow in similar footsteps. Varun has had the privilege to see bands from back in the early days such as the original Triveni Orchestra, Gemini, and BWIA, among a few at the time. At age 7, his family migrated to Toronto Canada. It was here another original was formed, Trishul. Returning to Trinidad, Varun attended Avocat Vedic School where he joined the local bhajan groups. At the age of 14, migrated to Ft Lauderdale Florida. He would later join the F.M.M. crew at 16 years old, filling on on the rhythm machine, meanwhile working towards his Computer Networking Degree in 2002. Varun also plays guitar, bass, and tassa. His talent extends further as he is the captain of his own cricket team, Invaders Sports Club. Currently Varun is a Material Control Specialist for DaVinci Systems Inc.
